Inspired by my sister Suzanne Davis's composition by that name, Transition Waltz was the second animation I attempted after Monk's Blooze in 1997. While principle art work was completed in 1998, I did not actually complete it until this year when my a professional quality soundtrack was provided. Prior to that I could not enter it in any competitions due to the poor audio. In addition I have recently made alterations to several key scenes employing Adobe After Effects which I did not have at the time I completed the first cut.
Both Monk's Blooze and Transition Waltz employ a rather laborious process involving Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Priemier. Since that time I started using vector based animation programs which while much easier to use do not contain the same 'painterly' effects as bitmap based techniques.

While niether film could be entered in festivals due to music problems the art work for both Transition Waltz and Monk's Blooze were featured in the 1998 PRINT Digital Design Annual.

Currently Transition Waltz is entered in the online film festival Triggerstreet where it has ranked in the top ten. If you would like to 'vote' for it, please go to www.triggerstreet.com and register.
